John Allan Young, loving husband of Isobel (Owens) Young went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1912 in Ripples, NB he was the son of the late John Allan and Minnie (Robertson) Young. Allan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He worked many years as a machinist for McAvity’s. He was an active member of First Wesleyan Church. Besides his wife Isobel of 64 years, he is survived by his sons David (Winnie) of St. John’s NF, Stephen (Lori) of Saint John, Paul (Deborah) of Houghton, NY and Andrew (Paulette) of Saint John; sister Patricia McCall of Winchester, ON; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers George, Lawson, Marvin and Harry and sisters Grace, Florence and Beatrice.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from First Wesleyan Church, 399 Boar’s Head Rd. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
