MacLEAN, Lois Doreen-80, of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou, passed away February 13, 2011 in the home. Born on Pictou Island, she was a daughter of the late Ward & Dolina (MacLean) MacCallum. She lived on Pictou Island for most of her life, moving to Pictou in the early 60’s. Lois loved to bake, she worked at the factory cookhouse on Pictou Island, and at the old Oddfellows Home, after moving to Pictou. She also loved to see her grandchildren, and the arrival of the triplets brought her great joy. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen (Ron) MacDonald, Pictou; son, Chuck (Shelly) MacLean, Lyons Brook; grandchildren, Jeff Rankin, Pictou; Jodi (Mark) Rankin-Underwood, Grand Prairie, Alberta; Chris (Ashley Piesse) MacDonald, Red Deer, Alberta; and Aaron, Liam, and Grace MacLean, Lyons Brook. Lois was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; daughter, Donna Rankin; a son in infancy; granddaughter, Tracey MacDonald, son-in-law, Jack Rankin; sisters, Ona & Isabel; brothers, Carl & Andy.
Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2:00 PM Wednesday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Steve Webb officiating. Private committal will follow in Seaview Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou
