Roy Watling

Roy M. Watling, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre on Monday February 14, 2011. Born in Little Branch, he was the son of the late James and Katherine (Mills) Watling. Roy was a Veteran of WWII, having served overseas with the Canadian Army (Carleton York Regiment) and was retired from CNR Intermodal (Driver) with 30 years service. He was an adherent of Mountain View United Church and a member of the CN Pensioners Association and the Moncton Lions Senior Citizens Centre. Roy will be sadly missed by his wife of over 63 years, Norma H. (Russell) Watling; daughter, J. Darlene Watling of Moncton; son Ralph (Brenda) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Sharon Soulliere (Jason), Dawn DeWolfe (Sandy) and Kenneth Watling (Tina); great grandchildren, Victoria, Justin, Nicholas; sister, Marjorie Young of Loggieville; brothers, George (Ruby) of Moncton and Neil (Anna) of Black River; several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Winfield.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. Memorial Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Friday February 18, 2011, 1:30 pm, Rev. Mary Anningson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Roy’s memory to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Mountain View United Church or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences at
