Milton, Ronald David - 76, Springhill, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late David and Hilda (Rector) Milton. Over the years, Ron worked at the Cobequid Lumber Company, and also as a miner in the Springhill coal mines until their closure. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends at his cottage in Economy. He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, the former Doris Quinn; sons, Cecil (Pam), Springhill; Gary, Slave Lake, Alta.; James (Jennifer), Springhill; grandchildren, Kasha and Katelyn; step-grandchildren, Allison, Sarah, Thomas, Issac and Braden; great-grandchildren, Kemper and Ktori; brothers-in-law, Darrell Spence, Springhill; Herman (Betty) Quinn, Oxford Juncton; sister-in-law, Debbie Quinn, Moncton; two nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Spence. Cremation has taken place under the direction of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home (447-2930). A private internment will take place at a later date.
