(June 27, 1929 - February 16, 2011) - The passing of John Porter of Oxbow, NB occurred on February 16, 2011 at his residence at the age of 81. Born in Two Brooks, NB he was the son of the late George and Amy (McCarty) Porter. John is survived by his wife Pauline (Stevenson) Porter; children Douglas (Linda) of Anfield, NB, David (Shannon) of Leaf Rapids, MB, Donna (Stanley) of Plaster Rock, NB, Amy of Tofield, AB and Erin of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren Justin (Amy), Jordan (Kamie), Koel, Branceon, Morgan and Kalla. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Lois (Hathaway) Porter and infant son Stephen, brothers Sandy, Thomas, Samuel, Joseph, Peter, Ervine, Graydon, Edward, Rene and Archie, sisters Rachel, Edith, Violet, Lizzie and Gladys. John is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Resting at White's Chapel, 85 Centennial St. Plaster Rock with visiting hours on Saturday, February 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 20th at 2 pm from White's Chapel with Rev. Steven Longmoore officiating. Interment in the Burntland Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Burntland Brook Cemetery or the charity of the donor's choice.
