Sandy Gionet of Upper Golden Grove, devoted wife to Claude Gionet passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 16, 2011. Born 1945 in Saint John to the late George and Hazel (Tucker) Logan. Sandy was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was involved in the St. Joachim’s Charismatic Movement, The Passion of Christ Play and fund raising for KOC with St. Pius the X Church. She enjoyed bowling with several Saint John leagues including the Highway League and the Ben Loman League. Sandy loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed going to Claude’s baseball games. Besides her loving husband Claude, Sandy is survived by her brother Donald Logan of Vancouver, BC; brothers and sisters-in-law Leonce Gionet, Joseph Gionet (Roseanne) and Eugene Gionet (Patsy) all of Saint John; many nieces, nephews and friends, canine companion Lacy and feline companion TD. Besides her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her sisters Helene Gunn, Bertha Bailey, Jean Lewis and Gloria-Jean Logan and one brother Robert Tucker.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday and Sunday, February 19th and 20th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 12 noon. Private family interment to take place at a later date at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Upper Golden Grove.
