
Annie Goodine
Annie Martha Goodine of Aroostook Junction passed away at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital at Perth-Andover, NB February 16, 2011. Born in Cliffordvale, NB on April 22, 1923, Annie was the last surviving member of the late Alonzo and C. Agnes (Sullivan) Dixon family. She married Isaac J. Goodine on February 24, 1943 and was predeceased by him October 18, 1996. She is survived by three sons and five daughters: Donald (Claudette) Goodine of St. Stephen, Anita (Hubert) Andersen of Bairdsville, Marlene (late Charles) Tupper of Aroostook Junction, Dorothy Anne (John) Sullivan of Aroostook, Evan (Judy) Goodine of Milltown, Allen (Jean) Goodine of Aroostook Junction, Barbara Goodine of Welsford and Annette (Kenneth) Wheaton of Saint John; twenty five grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; two sister-in-laws Ruby (late Lloyd) Dixon, resident at Victoria Glen Manor, Perth-Andover and Sister Stella Goodine s.c.i.c., resident of Ruth Ross Residence, Saint John and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Annie was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Edward, George, Lloyd, and an infant brother W.Wellington Dixon and sisters Laura Dixon, Adelia McCarthy and M. Freda Langley. Annie devoted most of her life to homemaking and raising her family. She was dietary supervisor at Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital at Perth-Andover from 1967 until her retirement in 1983. She was a member for nearly sixty years and former president of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Women's League and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Women's League.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 am from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto will celebrate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Canadian Red Cross, or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
