Little Harbour - Roberta Hall (Wilson) Morrow, born July 8, 1922, was received by the arms of Our Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Susan Wilson, of Springhill, NS. Mum came to New Glasgow in 1940 and attended the Maritime Business College in New Glasgow. She graduated from business college and began working for May G. Anderson, one of the first female lawyers in New Glasgow as a Legal Secretary. At the beginning of the Second World War, she worked for the Inspection Board of the United Kingdom and Canada at the Trenton Works Plant. After the war, she became employed with Wartime Prices and Trade Board in New Glasgow. Mum married, raised a family and resided in Little Harbour for most of her life. She attended Little Harbour Presbyterian Church and was actively involved in the church choir for 45 years, the Ladies Aid Society, Women’s Missionary Society, and the Ladies Card Club. Mum’s quick wit and humour were enjoyed by all who knew her. One of Mum’s greatest gifts was her singing ability, which she enjoyed for many years with her singing partner, Dorothy MacLeod. Mum’s three greatest loves were her Church, her singing and her family. She lived out her final years at Glen Haven Manor surrounded by many friends, her family, residents and staff. She is survived by daughters: Ann (James) Marchese, Maine, USA; Susan (Russell) Breen, Pictou Landing; Alison (Donnie) Tait, Westville; sons: John, St. Andrew’s, NB; Robert (Angela), Baltimore, NB; grandchildren: Adam, Lesley, Jessica, Justin, Pamela, Matthew, Zachary, Cathleen, Christopher, John, Benjamin, Nicholas and Jax; great grandchildren: Cydney and Paige Breen. She was special Nannie to John Nathan, Donna, Shanice and Shelby Tait. She is also survived by her former husband, John Fred Morrow. She was predeceased by her brother Maurice Kenneth “Buddy” Wilson, of Ontario. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service 1 pm Saturday in Little Harbour Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joanne Vines officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Church Brook Cemetery.
