Reginald Edward King, 91, of Tankville, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011, at The Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born August 14, 1919 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Chase) King. Reg was retired from CN with over 35 years service. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and travel by train. He will also be fondly remembered for his well manicured lawn. He will be sadly missed by Florence (Gallant) King, his beloved wife of 63 years; five children: Eileen, Phyllis Geddes (Bruce), Wayne (Rachel), Edward, and Joyce; a sister, Rita “Tootsie” Batiz; two grandchildren: Ross (Melanie) and Kenneth (Crystal); three great-grandchildren: Kaylie, Maddie, and Alex. He is predeceased by a grandson, John Geddes; a brother, Waldo; six sisters: Marie Cassidy, Marjorie King, Dora McLean, Leona Doucet, Irene Butler, and Margaret O’Hara.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette’s Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday, February 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence O’Toole R.C. Church, Irishtown, Tuesday, February 22 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
