Mildred Troutman

Mildred I. Troutman, 89, of Monarch Hall, Riverview and formerly of Royal Court and Pine Glen Road, Riverview, passed away at her residence on Friday February 18, 2011.
Born in Lower Coverdale, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ina (Downing) Steeves. Mildred was a former employee of the Childrens Hospital Eastern Ontario (Ottawa) and a member of First Baptist Church. During her residency in Ottawa, Mildred was an active member of the McPhail Memorial Baptist Church. Mildred’s life revolved around her extended family and her church community, as well as participating in choirs, first in Ottawa and in Moncton. A talented seamstress among her many talents, she frequently sewed new choir gowns, dresses and original garments for her beloved older sisters and many nieces. During her full life, Mildred visited every major continent, was an ardent conversationalist and enjoyed a challenging game of bridge. Mildred will be sadly missed by her son, David Jonah(Mary Ellen Bull), of Pointe-du- Chêne; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Swann (John), of Victoria, BC; grandson, Matthew(Anna), great granddaughters, Thea, Linden, and Isla Sheridan-Jonah; sister, Lois Hume, of Riverview; brother, Aulden Steeves (Thelma) of Moncton, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, James. T. Humphrey (1972) and Harold E. Troutman (1975); stepdaughters, Ruth and Eunice; stepson, James; brothers, Millard, Laurence; sisters, Bernice, Adelaide, Bernadine and Daphna. Sharing her family’s loss is long time Riverview friend Ms. Deborah Wood.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday, February 22, between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 23, at 1:30 pm with Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. A short reception will be held following the service to celebrate Mildred’s life in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, at Wilmot Memorial Cemetery, Lower Coverdale, in the spring.
