Cynthia Lusby

It is with great sadness that the family of Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Lusby age 67, of Amherst announce her passing Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the QE II Health Science Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax.
Born in Sheppey, England she was a daughter of Wilfred and Primrose (Harvey) Hicks, her biological parents and her adopted parents Garnet and Ruth Black.
Cindy loved life, a good joke and no yard sale was safe from her on Saturday morning, nor a bin unrummaged though at Frenchy's. She also enjoyed bird watching, gardening and loved animals and above all helping other people and made a home for many during her years as a foster parent.
Cindy is survived by her husband Alex, daughter Venessa (Josh) and son Jason both of Amherst, sisters Betty (Lloyd) Babineau of Amherst ,Sheila Berry of Quinnell, BC and Mary Lou (George) Goodwin of South Brook, NS; brothers Laurie (Lucy) of Amherst, Bobby (Maddie) of BC, Hugh (Michele) of Brantford, ON, Daniel (Joan) of Point-Du-Chene, NB, Bill (Louise) of Brantford, ON, Arthur (Diane) of Kentville, Robin (Kelly) of Amherst and John (Debbie) of Sackville, NB, special niece Angela Gallagher and her son Titus as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Gordon.
There will be no visitation.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with Rev. Donald Miller officiating. Please dress casually.
Memorial donations in Cindy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
