Penney, Mary Agnes Elizabeth (John) – 73, Truro, passed away at her home on February 16, 2011. Born in Glenwood, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Berdina John. Mary had a great interest in her native culture. She also enjoyed Bingo. She had a wonderful respect for all creatures and for all of life. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ronald, Truro; daughter, Bernadette (Jerry Hartlen) Giles, Wittenburg, Christene (Dave) McEvoy, Surrey, BC; step-daughter, Karen (Mitchell) Allen, Maccan; sister, Elsie (Tony) Holland, Shad Bay; grandchildren, Melanie(Kyle) Millberry, Tamie(Nathan Lake), Dominic, Daniel, Josh; great-grandchildren, Mary Jane, Savannah, Nevaeh, Danika; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Eustace. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 22nd beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m., all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, with Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Colchester S.P.C.A.
