DUNNE, Lena Maria (Nee Murphy)–Passed peacefully away in her 80th year, surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s Homes on October 20, 2008. Predeceased by her beloved husband John and son John (1993); brother Jack (Sadie) Murphy; in-laws Cora and Robert Dunne; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Florence (Bill) Rose, Peg Mullaly, Robert Dunne, Reg Bonnell, Joseph Smith. Lena was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and friend, as well as a dedicated volunteer to the needy. She will be greatly missed and sadly mourned by her children: Brenda (Peter Kent); Steve (Sheila) of Ottawa; Kathy (Larry Cheeseman); Bob (Bernadette); Libby (Ed Foran); Gerry (Debbie) and Cora (Ian McFadyen). Her grandchildren: Lauren and Michael (Marnie) Cheeseman; Stephen (Janet) and Jennifer Kent (Scott Thistle); Darcy (Jordan), Riley (Laurie) and Kelly Dunne; Tom (Jennifer) and Ken (Nadine) Dunne; Patrick, Adam and Jeffrey Foran; Ryan and Rory Dunne; Andrew and Jonathan McFadyen. Also beloved sister Marie (Bill) Norcott of Clarenville and their children: Paul, Colleen, Neil and families; sister Mary Murphy of Toronto; sisters-in-law: Betty Evans; Bernice Bonnell; Dorothy Dunne; Joan (John) Ferris of Campbell River, B.C.; Beatrice (Frank) Rose; Geraldine (Dick) Hartery; Pat Garrett (Paul Hynes); Ed (Pat) Dunne; Don (Esther) Dunne of Comox, BC; Jim (Barb) Dunne. Lovingly remembered by extended family, friends and the very special staff of St. Luke’s Home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd. on Wednesday, October 22nd from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Thursday, October 23rd at 9:30 a.m. followed by inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, St. Luke’s Homes, The Gathering Place or a charity of one’s choice.
