Passed away peacefully at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island, on Sunday, February 20, 2011, Peter Kevin Kent, age 90. Predeceased by his beloved son Karl, parents Peter and Agnes, sisters: Mary Keels and Elizabeth Kolonel, brothers: Edward, Terrance and Richard. Left to celebrate his life is his wife of 63 years, Joan (Evans); children: Cynthia Nolan, Keith (Joan), Kevin (Margaret), Rhonda Kelly (Dave), Agnes Marie Cahill (Gerald), Colin, and Lisa Power (Tony). Adored Pop of Krista Mennie (Bill), Karolyn Nolan (Pat), Scott (Theresa), Craig (Emerald), and Evan Kent, Trina Noseworthy (Paul), Stephanie Tobin (Todd), Kenneth Kent (Angie), Lynette Kelly (Rob), Janelle Kelly (Kirk), Renee Ryan (Rodney), Laurie Anne Macdonald (George), Gillian Byrne (Randy), and ten special great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn brother Jack, sisters: Alice Whalen (Wilfred), Agnes O’Keefe (Philip) and Catherine Carpentier (Albert), sisters-in-law: Maud Kent, and Mary Ricketts, brother-in-law Donald Kolonel. As well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, especially Rickey Kent (Marilyn) and godchild Sharon Fowler (Dave). Sharing the loss are devoted caregivers: Debbie, Marilyn, Connie and long time family friend and caregiver Lois. Also leaving to mourn numerous relatives, friends, especially Paula and Wanda and wonderful neighbours. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home, Bell Island. Visitation to take place on Monday and Tuesday, February 21 and 22 from 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to take place on Wednesday, February 23 at 2:30 from St. Michael’s Parish Church. Interment to follow at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bell Island. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Parish, Bell Island.
