HERBERT IGNATIUS MACGILLIVARY
We, the family of the late "Herbie" wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our neighbours and friends for their kind support during our recent loss.
Those who sent food to our homes, cleared snow, phoned, sent flowers, cards, online condolences, and made charitable donations, we thank you. We are grateful to all who came, some from great distances to the wake and funeral. We thank Fathers Paul MacGillivary, Eroll MacDonald, Ray Huntley, Everett McDow, and Francis Cameron for a warm and moving celebration of a life well lived. Our thanks to the altar servers, Holy Redeemer Choir, director Peggy McLaine, organist Pierce Sampson, soloist, Neil MacPhee, violinist Eddy Rogers and pianist Janet Cameron. We thank the gift bearers; sisters, Connie & Cecilia, Anna, Nicholas, Emma (grandchildren) the readers; Elizabeth, Sarah and Rylea (grandchildren), Eucharistic Ministers, Sister Josephine MacLellan and Emily MacLellan (sisters-in-law) and Susan Moyers (niece), the pall bearers; Kevin, John, Ryan, Angus, Will, Chris, Corey and Carter, honorary pallbearers; Daniel, Martin, Gerard, Vince, Glen (nephews). and the honor guard, friends who had shared his life, his recreation and his many years of faithful service to our former church, St. Alphonsus, Justin Merritt, Bernie & Greg MacNeil, Martin MacKinnon, Leo Quinn, Michael Campbell, Bill Bungay and Jerry Martell. Thank you to Dr. Mark Sampson and Rita, who cared for Herbie for so many years, and Dr. Murdock Smith. Special thanks go to Herbie's caregivers during his illness, Cape Breton Homemakers, VON Day Program, and the staff of Harbourstone, you treated him like family, and he was truly happy in your care. Trevor Tracy and the staff of T.W. Curry, your thoughtfulness and professionalism made a sad time more bearable. No detail was overlooked. To all who have touched our lives with your kindness and compassion, we are forever grateful.
