RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Rita Maillet 86 of Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Thursday, February 24th, 2011. Born in Cap Lumiere, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and late Emma (Babineau) Maillet. Rita attended St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. She was a member of the Richibouctou-Village Golden Age Club. In her spare time, Rita loved to play bingo. Rita will be sadly missed by her husband of 66 years, Gerard Maillet, her daughter; Alveta Bastarache (Gerard) of Clearwater, Florida and her son: Donald Maillet also of Clearwater, Florida, her very special grandson; Marc Bastarache (Kim) of New Port, Florida, three sisters; Alice Landry (late Gerard) of Cap Lumiere, Lucie Daigle (Antoine) of Cap Lumiere, Claudette Lirette (Laurie) of Brockville, ON, one brother; Henri Maillet (Bonnie Hannay) of Cap Lumiere. Rita was predeceased by one sister; Marie Daigle, one brother; Lionel Maillet and one brother-in-law; Joseph Daigle.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 4:00 pm, Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto.
