Z. Pauline Watson
Z. Pauline (Wilkins) Watson passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on February 24, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in her 90th. year. Born in 1921 at North Tay, NB, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Viva (Griffiths) Wilkins. There she met and married Jimmy Watson in June, 1939. Pauline and Jim settled along the St. John River in Dumfries, where they raised their family. After most of her children left home, Pauline went to work at the Moonlight Inn and at a restaurant in Pokiok, then at King’s Landing. After retiring Pauline was active in the Senior’s Fifty Plus Club in Prince William. The last few years were spent at the Art Smith Senior’s Complex in Harvey Station. Pauline will be fondly remembered for her great memory, famous hugs, do-nuts, molasses cookies and much more. Pauline was the loving mother of seven children, Nancy Lockhard, Fredericton, Bob Watson (Linda), Fredericton, David Watson (Pam), Kingston, ON, Austin Watson (Faye), Fredericton, Anna Walsh (Marvin), Pembrook, ON, Randy Watson (Janet), Tweedside and Louise Murphy (Philip), Lake George. Cherished Grammie to eighteen grandchildren and one step-grandson and much loved GG to twenty-one great grandchildren. She will be missed by her brother, Vernon Wilkins (Sarah), Cardigan, NB and a sister-in-law, Agnes Harding (Bud), Woodland, NB; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Watson in 1998; a son-in-law, Lloyd Lockhard; a sister, Florence Thomas and her husband Doug; a sister-in-law, Annie Burnett and husband Lloyd and a brother-in-law, George Watson and his wife Doris.
Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 3 p.m. from St. Andrew’s United Church, Harvey with Rev. Jennifer Brown and Rev. Kay Clowater officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Magundy Sand Bank Cemetery.
