George Lirette
1929 – 2011 - George Lirette, 81, of Bouctouche Cove, husband of Sara (Bastarache) Lirette, passed away peacefully at the Saint-John Regional Hospital, Saint-John on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011. Born in Haut Aboujagane on March 5th, 1929 he was the son of the late Emile and the late Marguerite (LeBlanc) Lirette.
He worked for the Ford Plant in Oakville, ON, on the assembly line for numerous years. He was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus with the council 7010 of Bouctouche. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sara and his two children, Tina Lirette (Jim Carleton) and Roger both of Barrie, ON, and one grandson Kyle. He also leaves to mourn two sisters, Viola Vautour (late Yvon) of Shediac, Sara Brun (Alyre) of Robichaud; his two brothers, Laurie (Claudette) of Brockville, ON, and Ola (Rina) of Gardner, MA and several nephews and nieces, especially his nieces Maria LeBlanc (Len) of Bouctouche.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Eric and Francis. Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de l’église, Bouctouche on Sunday, February 27th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Monday, February 28th, 2011 at 4:00 pm with internment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
