Ferdinand King
1914 – 2011 - Ferdinand King, 96 of Foyer Bernice Hébert, Bouctouche and formerly of Richiboucto-Village, passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris de Kent Hospital, Sainte-Anne de Kent on Thursday, February 24th, 2011. He was married to the late Lucille Richard (2002). Born in Bouctouche on April 24th, 1914 he was the son of the late Clovis and the late Nélida (Desroches) King. He was the owner and operator of « les Entreprises de Tabac King Ltée. » and a fisherman. He was a member of « l’Association acadienne et francophone des ainées et ainés du Nouveau-Brunswick ».
He will be sadly missed by his three children, Rose-Marie Duguay (Benoit) of Moncton, Leona Bernard (Roger) of Richiboucto, and Emerie (late Simone) of Richiboucto-Village; five grandchildren Nicole, Charleen, Marc, Marc-André, Hélène and six great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn four sisters, Anna Bernard, Irène Maillet (Arice) both of Bouctouche, Yvonne LeBlanc of Saint-Edouard de Kent, and Déliza Caissie of Richibouctou, several nephews and nieces and all his friends from the Foyer Hébert. He was predeceased by one daughter, Roberte, four sisters, Elise, Dorilla, Edna, and Edmée, and four brothers, Emerie, Augustin, Willie and Léandre.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room on Monday, February 28th, from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 am. Funeral Mass will be held at the Richiboucto-Village Church on Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 at 11:00 am with internment in the parish cemetery. In Ferdinand’s memory donations can be made to the Dr Georges L Dumont Foundation Nephrology unit.
