The death of Henry Joseph Bielecki of Old Avon, NB occurred Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Old Avon, NB he was the son of the late Stefan and Antonina (Szkutnik) Bielecki. In his early years, Henry had worked for the Avon Coal Company and retired from NB Power with 31 years of service. A former president of the Holy Rosary Parish Council and an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus, he was a Chartered member of the Minto Rotary Club having held various positions within the club, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #12, Minto, a member of the Newcastle Creek Boat Club and a former member of the Minto Regional Development Corporation. He was well known in the area for continuing the Polish tradition with his homemade Polish sausage. Survived by his sons, Adam Bielecki (Krista) of Saint John, NB and Anthony Bielecki (Belinda) of Fredericton, NB; his daughters, Lola Rollins (Keith) and Leah Cochrane (Brent) both of Minto, NB; mother of his children, Roberta of Oromocto, NB; six grandchildren, Christopher, Stefan and Emily Bielecki, Nicholas, Abby and Ashley Cochrane; a brother, Bogdan (Buck) Bielecki (Donna) of Hamilton, ON; two sisters, Helena Knox (Murray) of Hardwood Ridge, NB and Stella Trybel (Mike) of Dutton, ON; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Bielecki; a sister, Bronislaua (Brun) VanDoorselare and her husband (Arthur).
Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto, NB) with visiting Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Monday, February 28th, 2011 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will take place in Holy Rosary Cemetery at a later date.
