91, of Irishtown, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born on December 14, 1919 in Bouctouche, NB, he was the son of the late Calixte and Nélida (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Medor was a veteran of the Second World War and had served in the Normandie Invasion. He was a past member of the Shediac Legion and had a 31 year career with the Department of National Defence (No 5 Supply Depot). He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lucia (née LeBlanc); one daughter, Bernadette LeBlanc (Gérard) of Irishtown, one son, Normand (Bernice) of Irishtown; granddaughter Chantal LeBlanc (James Bustin) of Lakeville, grandsons Gabriel LeBlanc of Irishtown and Shawn McGuire (Cheryl) of Saint John, great-grandson Oliver McGuire and by Bernice’s son Jason Duguay. He is also survived by brothers Philippe (Sylvina) and Alcide (Jeannette), both of Massachusetts and by sisters-in-law Emma LeBlanc (late Lazarre) of Bouctouche and Jeannette (late Elias) of Gardner and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Roger; a daughter, Gisele; a granddaughter, Charlene; a sister, Lydia Saint-Louis (late Victor); and by brothers, Jean-Baptiste (late Yvonne), Elias and Lazarre.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 1 pm until departure (1:45). Funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole R.C. Church, Irishtown, on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Veterans of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at 3:45 pm Monday at the funeral home. In memory of Medor, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
