Tyler Dawson Hickey, 21, of Henry Street, Whitney Pier, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 10, 2009, in Halifax.
Born and raised in Sydney, Tyler was the beloved son of Lawrence ‘Duff’ Tull and Paula Hickey.
In 2005, he graduated from Sydney Academy and completed one year at CBU. Tyler was involved with Sydney Minor Hockey, where he developed many lifelong friendships and continued his love of sports, by playing with the oldtimers. For the past year, Tyler was employed in Ft. McMurray, returning home with plans to study electrical construction.
Tyler leaves behind his soulmate and best friend, Maryam Mohseni, as well as, numerous friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be truly missed by his godparents, Dennis and Beverly Talbot.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Helen Hickey and Avis Tull.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday 11 a.m., with Rev. Errol MacDonald officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
