Dorothy Rose (Boothby) Wenham
Wenham, Dorothy Rose (Boothby) – 89, Masstown passed away February 23, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Horley, Surrey County, England, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Boothby. Dorothy was a devoted mother whose world surrounded her family. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed gardening. She and William owned a corner store which she referred to as “the shop” which she ran quite successfully. She also assisted her husband with their milk and dairy business. She is survived by daughters, Margaret Anne (Trevor) Page, Ashford, Kent Co., England, Rosemary (Frank Redmond) Meredith, Truro; sons, Roger, Tankerton, Kent Co., England, Terry (Dianne), Bass River, Richard (Marilyn Whitewood), Masstown, Cyril (Barbara) Kingsnorth, St. Cleer, Cornwall, England; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William; son Mervin in infancy; sisters, Mary, Joyce, Peggy, Betty, Joan, Nancy; brothers, Bill, George, Joey; daughter-in-law, Sue Wenham. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1st beginning at 1pm until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Donald MacQueen officiating. Spring interment in Masstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
