REGAN, Betty Joan — 84, of Halifax (formerly of Windsor), passed away quietly Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at Northwood Centre. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Bessie (Barnsley) Humphreys. Joan is survived by her son, Bruce (Deb), Vaughan, Hants Co. and her loving daughter, Barbara, Toronto, Ont.; grandchildren, Nataly (Scott Spidle), Mathew, Karley, Barrett and Kelsey; great-granddaughter, Riley Spidle; sister-in-law, Janet Humphreys, Burlington Ont., and three nieces Jane, Nancy and Ann and their families. She was predeceased by her son, Bill Regan (2008) and her brother Barry Humphreys. Joan spent much of her life, and raised her children, in Windsor. In later years, she lived and worked in Halifax. Her last years since 2006 were spent in the wonderful care of the staff at Northwood Centre in Halifax. Special thanks and appreciation are extended by Joan's family to the staff and friends of 4th Floor Centre. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor, where the funeral service was held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 22. Rev. Tom Henderson officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre.
