It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Jim Robertson on March 1, 2011, our husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Born and raised in Florence, son of the late James and Frances Robertson.
Jim is survived by wife, Margaret (Bonar); children, Troy (Angie), Chris (Karla) and granddaughter, Shania of Florence. Jim is also survived by two sisters, Donna MacDonald and Wendy (Dale) Nicholson.
In his earlier years, Jim was a coal miner until retirement and then pursued his passion with carpentry.
Jim loved to fish, hunt with the boys and spend time with his sons. Jim was a very loved, caring and reliable man. He believed in his family and was totally devoted to them. Jim passed away doing what he loved most and that alone gives us great comfort. There are no words to describe how sadly he will be missed.
Visitation for Jim will be held at Fillmore & Whitman today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 4 at 10 a.m. from Wilson United Church in Florence, with Rev. David Luker officiating. Luncheon to follow at the Florence legion. All are welcome.
