It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother and friend. Faye passed suddenly at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on March 1, 2011.
Faye worked at Louisbourg National Sea Products as well as the Grubstake for many years. She enjoyed her work but nothing in life compared to Faye’s family. Her husband, of 47 years Gord, was her best friend. Faye and Gordon had been together since their teen years, their hearts had always and will always belong to each other. Their love built a strong beautiful family.
Faye loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Michelle, her first born spent most days with her mom, they shared daily laughs and love. Annette, her middle child, was Faye’s organized go-getter who brought much love to her mother’s heart and home. Gordie was Faye’s baby, he always remained a bright-eyed little boy in his mother’s eyes.
Michelle and her husband Guy, both of Louisbourg, gave Faye a loving grandson. Austin loved his grandmother and he loved her, Faye will always live in Austin’s heart, nanny will always be Austin’s Guardian Angel. Annette and David, of Middle River, gave Faye two amazing little hockey players, David Alexander and Ryan Scott. Nanny loved her blonde boys with all her heart. Gordie gave Faye Carson and Trenton. Faye will be sadly missed by her sweet grandson Carson and her first born and spectacular grandson Trenton. Gord also gave Faye a loving daughter-in-law, Cathy. Special grandsons, Josh and Nicolas will also miss their nan. Faye is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis (Richard), Elsie (Martin), Juanita (Jeff); brothers, Roy (Audrey), John, Dan (Tina), Blake (Carol).
The family will miss their oldest sister each and every day of their lives. Brothers and sisters-in-laws, Henry, Roberta, Marie and Charlie will also miss Faye. Faye is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Aunt Faye will always be with each of them, as well as two sisters-in-law, Nancy Canavan (Mike) and Linda Kennedy-Primmer (Tommy).
No matter what Faye’s faith stood rock solid, and we know upon her passing she will be reunited with her loving parents, Myra and Tom Kennedy, her big brother, Mike Canavan, little brother, Tommy and sister-in-law, Dianne Kennedy.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 4 at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Louisbourg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5 at St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Louisbourg.
Some day when we meet up yonder,
we’ll stroll hand in hand again,
in a land that knows no partin,
blue eyes cryin in the rain ....
