Peacefully, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, of Mrs. Margaret M. “Mernie” McGonnell (nee Hughes) of Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, age 71 years.
Beloved wife of the late LeRoy G. “Roy” McGonnell and dear mother of Janice (Dan) MacDonald, Lisa (Rob) MacPherson and Glen (Erin) McGonnell. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Meghan and Allyson MacDonald, Andrew MacPherson, Marley, Laney and Avey McGonnell.
She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Frank Hughes, Gordie (Olive) Hughes, Joan (Bill) Simmonds, Steve (Sandra) Hughes and Kevin (Tracy) Hughes.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Saturday morning then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
