Laurie Gallant, 73, of St-Antoine, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born March 16, 1937 in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Patrick and Évangeline (Boucher) Gallant. He is survived by Georgette Cormier, for 33 years, his common-law wife, a son, Gaëtan Cormier (Tressa) of St-Edouard-de-Kent, a step-son, Éric Cormier of St-Antoine; two step-daughters: Rosella Gallant (Gilles) of Oromocto and Maria Noël (George) of Lutes Mountain; a grandson, Sébastien; four sisters: Bertha Richard (André) of St. Stephen, Alma Aucoin (Léo) of St. George, Imelda Blanchard (late Leonard) of Black’s Harbour, Thérèse Arsenault (late Albert) of Rogersville, a brother, Antoine (Laudia) of Notre-Dame, many nieces, and nephews. A son, Frank, and a brother, Nazaire, predeceased him.
The family will receive condolences Sunday, March 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Frenette’s Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). The funeral service will be held at Frenette’s Funeral Home Monday, March 7 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
