WESTVILLE – James Alan MacDonald, 76 of Westville and formerly of MacLellan’s Mtn., passed away on Sunday July 12th, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in MacLellan’s Mtn., he was a son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Murphy) MacDonald.
He worked as a stationary engineer at Scott Paper until his retirement. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline; daughters, Brenda Knebel (Terry), Vancouver BC; Lisa and Jamie; sons: Graham MacDonald, Scotsburn, Wayne MacDonald (Jacquie), Trenton, Devan, Christin, Shelby and Carey; granddaughter, Rachael MacDonald, Stellarton; stepsons, Fred Taylor (Linda), Lethbridge, Alberta, Clayton and Jenny, James Taylor of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Miles, Luke, great-grandson, Cade, Wayne Taylor (Nancy) of Grande Prairie Alberta; stepdaughters: Marion Taylor, Truro, Justin and Jeffery, Judy Robertson (Ed) of Westville, Angie, Troy, Laura, great-grandsons, Jesse and Matthew, Bonny MacDonald (Everett) of Leduc, Alberta, David and Carly, Dianne Munroe (Walker) of Saltsprings, Hollie; sister-in-law, May MacDonald of MacLellan’s Mtn.; Aunt Annabell MacDonald of Thorburn; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son, Chris MacDonald, stepson, Murray Taylor, brother, Jack MacDonald, a brother, Eugene in infancy, a sister, Joyce Gerrior, brother-in-law, Bernie Gerrior.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the MacLellan’s Mtn. Cemetery.
Donations may be made to The Diabetic Association, The Canadian Cancer Society or to the Palliative Care Society.
