Passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on March 2, 2011, Jean Sarah Roche of Torbay, formerly of St. Brendan’s, Bonavista Bay, age 90. Predeceased by her parents Edward (Ned) and Mary (Alyward) McDonald, husband Nicholas, 1997, son Joseph (Lanie) 2008, grandsons Craig, 1993, Chris, 2002 and Ross (RJ), 2007. Leaving to mourn with beautiful and loving memories, five sons: William (Peggy), Ron (Bonnie), Gerard, Kelson (Eleanor) and Paul; three daughters: Shirley (Glenn), Marie (Vern) and Elaine; special family member Bernice; sister-in-law Sr. Marie Roche, Presentation Convent; sisters: Bride, Come by Chance, Mary, Rita, Josephine (Joey) and one brother Edward, all from British Columbia; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at the Health Science Complex for their faithful care and attention. Gratitude also to the staff at Torbay Manor, Torbay and Alderwood Retirement Centre, Witless Bay. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 5th at 10 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
