Edith May Knott, 80, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 7, 2011.
Born in Bonavista, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Chesley and Ella (Tremblett) Templeman.
Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved to cook, play cards and dance, while enjoying Newfoundland music.
She was a member of Church of Christ the King, formerly, Christ Church, Sydney.
Surviving are her daughters, Lynn Knott (Graham Quinn), Sydney, their children, Christopher Knott, and Alicia (James) Berrette and their son, Joshua, Tammy, Jennifer and Holly; Deborah (Michael) Poirier, Bedford and their children, Stephanie (Daniel) MacDonald and Nicole; Cathy (Leslie) MacKeigan, Moncton and their children, Kirk (Brittany) and Katelyn; son, Randy (Linda), Bedford and their son, John Randall.
Edith was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Randall, sisters, Nettie Crewe and Laura Belle (in infancy), brother, Walter and lifelong friend, Margie Sophocleous.
No visitation by request. A private family funeral service and interment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
