Dr. George W. Sutherland of Fredericton, NB, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 7th, 2011. George graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Doctorate in Chemistry. He started his career at Dow Chemical Canada where he worked for over 10 years. He then continued his lifelong work at his own company, Sutherland Separation Systems Inc., which includes inventions and patents to help clean our environment in the oil production industry. George had a passion for golf, the Toronto Maple Leafs and playing his guitar. George is survived by his mother, Eleanor Sutherland of Ontario; two brothers, Calvin Sutherland of Fredericton and Michael Sutherland of Ontario; Lenie (former spouse) of Ontario; step-daughter, Michelle and two grandchildren, Geoffrey and Danielle of Ontario. He is predeceased by his father, George M. Sutherland and brother, David Sutherland.
