Charles Duncan
Charles Allan Duncan, 90, of the Veteran's Health Center and formerly Salisbury passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his residence. Born at Bleakney Rd, Fawcett Hill, he was a son of the late Alexander and Emily (McFee) Duncan. During his working years Charles was employed by Canada Post and CMHC as a building inspector and also was a self employed Building Contractor. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the NB Rangers and 10th Infantry Brigade in Normandy, France, Belgium, Antwerp and Germany. Charles was a member of Hillsborough Masonic Lodge No. 43 F & AM, Hillsborough Royal Canadian Legion Branch 32 and the CNR War Vets. In his later years he enjoyed time spent at the camp on O'Neil Road with his long time friend Gary Phillips. He is survived by his step son Wayne Hamm (Judy) of AB; step daughters Ann McKay of England and Cheryl DesJardins (Burt) of PEI; several nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver Ann Marie Page of Moncton. Predeceased by brothers Gordon and Vincent Duncan; sisters Jessie Geldart, Lucy Hawkes, Nellie Kelleher, Laura Wilband, Geraldine Hugo and Ada Nicholson.
There is no visitation by request and a Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 12, 1 pm at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800). Interment at First North River Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
