It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Myles age 60 of Dominion. Diane passed away Monday, March 7, 2011, at the VG Hospital, Halifax.
Born Sept. 28, 1950, in Glace Bay, Diane was raised by her grandparents, the late Walter and Helen Butts and daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Butts) Morrison.
Diane was employed at the Glace Bay High School as a custodian from the opening until present. She also was employed in the food industry at the Main Event, Reserve Drive Inn, Grumpy’s and the family-owned business, Corner Coffee Shop, Dominion, and other food establishments. Diane loved working in the yard gardening, making crafts and cooking.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Myles; daughter, Linda (Phonse) MacNeil, Glace Bay; son, Chuck (Jennifer), Moncton, N.B.; and two very loved granddaughters, Jordan and Miranda Myles, Moncton, N.B.; brothers, Danny Butts and wife, Betty, Glace Bay, Harold Morrison and wife, Dayle, Athens, Ont.; sister, Lydia and husband, Georgie Fortune, Dominion; a special aunt, Grace Delaney, Dominion; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Diane will be held Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Good Shepherd, Dominion, with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating. A luncheon will be held in the church hall, all are welcome. Cremation will follow. Interment will be in Centerville Cemetery, Reserve, at a later date.
