The death occurred at Stewart Memorial Hospital, Tyne Valley, on Monday, March 7, 2011, of Erma Ruby Gorrill of Birch Hill aged 94, wife of the late Prowse Gorrill. Born in Tyne Valley Sept. 17, 1916, the youngest and last surviving child of the late John and Mary Ann (Ellis) Williams. Dear mother of Elmer (Sybil), Jack and Doris all of Birch Hill. Loving grandmother of Garth (Connie) Gorrill, Birch Hill; Gayle (Ewen) Lamont, Summerside and Gerri (Tyler) Ellis, Woodvale. Great-grandmother of Alexa Ellis, Angelina Gorrill, Elizabeth Gorrill, Carson Lamont, Kelton Ellis, Daniel Gorrill, Devon Lamont, Jaxon Lamont and Martina Ellis. Predeceased by her husband in 1988, siblings Evelyn (Vernor) Wood, Ella (Harold) MacLean, Elva Williams, Hinson Williams, Olive Williams, Glenn (William) MacKinnon, her twin Orell Williams. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Wednesday afternoon 2-5 p.m. Funeral on Thursday at St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, at 2 p.m. Memorials to St. James Anglican Church or Stewart Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
