A mighty spirit and sweet soul passed away quietly surrounded by her family. Margie will be remembered as a strong, loving, classy woman who inspired many with her courage and grace.
Throughout her illness, Margie learned to experience life anew; recapturing life’s wonder and richness, and experiencing the familiar in new ways. Open to change and adventure, Margie showed us all how to embrace life and fearlessly express love. Spiritual teachers come in many forms.
Beloved and greatly missed by her children, Sheila (Doug) Morrison, Dartmouth, N.S.; John MacKay, Sydney; Katie (Craig) Fraser, Burlington, Ont.; Shauna (Ron) Wong, San Diego, Calif.; Marylu (Nate) Ryant, Kamloops, B.C. Also, her dear and cherished grandchildren, Will Fraser and Kenzie Morrison.
Margie was predeceased by husband, Donald Frank “D.F.” MacKay.
Margie and her family would like to give thanks to the loving care and support provided by her many friends, nurses, doctors and minister who added to the quality of her life.
In lieu of flowers and expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Horizon Achievement Centre, 780 Upper Prince St., Sydney, N.S., B1P 5N6.
A memorial celebration will be held Sunday, July 19, 2 p.m., United Protestant Church of Sydney River.
