On Thursday, March 3, 2011, Erwin passed away at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home at the age of 81 years.

Survived by his loving wife of 56 years Dorothy, his children Jack (Brenda), Catherine, Kelly (Betty) and Arnold; his grandchildren Jack Jr. (Amy), Joshua (Sherri), Aleah, Elyse, Eric, Heidi; and great grandchildren Fisher, Jaelynn, Tristan, Dylan, and Brandon. Erwin also leaves to cherish his memory, sisters Elfreda and Grete and numerous nieces and nephews in Germany.

A Celebration of Erwin's life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chase Community Hall.
