Mary Alice Gero , 93, a resident of Glace Bay passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the Glace Bay General Hospital.
Born in Lincolnville, Guysborough County, N.S., Alice was the daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Jane (Reddick) Borden. Alice was a member of St. Mary's Anglican parish, Glace Bay.
She is survived by her brother, Arthur Borden, Lincolnville; two daughters, Alice Jordan, Dartmouth, Clara Jordan, Guysborough; son, Paul MacLean, who lived at home with her in Glace Bay. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; eight nieces, six nephews and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jethro Gero; sisters, Ida, Ada and sister-in-law, Laura Borden.
Visitation for Mary Alice Gero will be held at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2011 with funeral service to follow on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Marconi Street, Glace Bay. Burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Grand Lake Road, Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care department at the Glace Bay General Hospital.
