William James Batson
Date de décès : 6 mars 2011
BATSON, William James “Bill”, 1931 – 2011. In the early morning hours of March 6, 2011, Bill went gently to sleep after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was where he wanted to be most, with family, and has been at the home of his sister Midge and brother-in-law Don that he liked to say “was like living in a five-star hotel”. He never complained and always had a smile. He was a month short of his 80th birthday. Bill was predeceased by his parents Rhoda (Fox) and James “Jack” Batson and his brother John Leslie “Jackie” all of Bridgetown. His warm gentle smile will be greatly missed by his sisters, Midge (Don) Medicraft; Pat Steadman, both of Middleton; June Jeffrey of Moncton and brothers Francis of Nictaux and Ron (Cathy) of Bridgetown; many nieces and nephews. Bill was a veteran and served with the RCASC and was very proud of his military career and was a Korean veteran and also served in Egypt, Germany and various parts of Canada. He really enjoyed our family get-togethers and loved our “pot luck” suppers. He always had a beautiful smile and never complained and was a joy to be around. He also had a very special friend “Pat” who nursed him to the end. He also had a special companion of many years “Alice”. Bill was cremated and there will be a graveside memorial service at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown. No visitation by request. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448.
