Murray Austin Blakney, 90, of Intervale, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on March 10, 2011. Born at Bleakney Road, NB, he was a son of the late Thomas and Edna (nee Murray) Blakney. Murray was the husband of the late Ruth Blakney (nee Goddard) who passed away December 10, 2009. He is survived by his sons: David Blakney of Intervale, and Richard Blakney at home; his great-grandson, Kyle Blakney of Moncton; and his sister, Margaret Alward (Harold) of Fawcett Hill. Besides his wife and parents, Murray was predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Blakney, his brother, Curtis Blakney, and his sister Marion Thompson. There will be no visitation as per Murray’s request. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Leslie Hicks presiding, in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac. Interment will be held in the First North River Cemetery at a later date. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
