Gerald M. Justason devoted husband for 49 years to Phyllis (Hawkins) Justason of Beaver Harbour, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 11, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August of 1937 in Pennfield to the late Alvin and Olga (Cross) Justason. Gerald was a mechanic for the Department of Transportation for over 17 years and also worked with Deer Island Ferries retiring in 1987. He a member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church enjoyed going for drives, traveling, camping and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Besides his wife Phyllis, Gerald is survived by his son Osborne (Krysten) of Pennfield and daughter Louise Gauthier (Dwayne) of Beaver Harbour; five precious grandchildren Matthew, Nicole, Kaitlen, Sean and Lauryn; sister-in-law Colleen Justason of Halifax, NS; nephew Robert and niece Jill and many friends. Besides his parents Gerald was predeceased by his brother Glendon Justason.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held from the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church 543 Main Street, Beaver Harbour on Sunday, March 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will held from the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church on Monday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the Harbour View Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations in Gerald’s memory can be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
