CHISLETT, Samuel John (Warrant Officer, ret’d.) (August 3, 1946 – March 11, 2011) — Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Carbonear General Hospital, on Friday, March 11, 2011, Sam Chislett of Islington, aged 64 years. Predeceased by infant son Derrick (1975), parents; Bertram and Edith Chislett, parents-in-law; Hayward and Elsie Legge; brothers–in-law: Hayward Legge and Howard Butt. He leaves to mourn with many loving memories, his wife of 40 years Marion (Legge), son Darren (Daun) Chislett and two special grandchildren, Cassandra and Ryan. He is also lovingly remembered by his four sisters: Asenath (Gerald) Legge, Clara (Gerald) Chislett, Ethel (Ivan) Wheeler, Irene (Freeman) Legge, and special brother Malcolm Chislett; six sisters-in–law: Ada (Gerald) Butt, Phyllis (Ray) Penney, Patricia Butt, Shirley (Willoughby) Chislett, Alma (Don) Higdon, Rhoda Piercey (Scott), Neta Legge (Randy) and brother-in-law Ron (Myrtle) Legge. Sam will be greatly missed by many nephews, nieces and friends. Resting at St. Matthew’s Church Hall, Islington, with visitation on Saturday, March 12, 8-10 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Monday, March 14, 10 a.m. to time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Heart’s Delight, on Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Matthew's Anglican Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Sam’s memory may be made to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
