At the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Thursday, March 10, 2011, of “Helen” Gertrude Murphy formerly of Borden-Carleton, aged 98 years. Wife of the late “James” Thomas Murphy. Helen was born on April 19, 1912, to her parents, the late Frank Noonan and the late Josephine (Murphy) Murphy. Mother of James (Janet) Murphy, Chelton; Hal (Frances) Murphy, Murrey Road; Dianne Murphy (Kenny), Borden-Carleton and Eldon (Debbie) Murphy, Middleton, PE. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Sister of Pauline Milligan, Kinkora, Marion Curley, Cornwall, P.E.I., Leonard Noonan, Ontario, children, Sybil Hawrelluk. Predeceased by Elaine Murphy and by brothers and sisters, Preston, Loretta, Velda, Raymond, Earl, Doris, St. Claire, and Milo. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Funeral Monday, March 14 at St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay, with funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, March 13, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Catholic Women’s League will say prayers at the Funeral Home Sunday, March 13, at 1:30 pm. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery Fund or Summerset Manor Equipment Fund.
