Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, March 12, 2011, Joan Parsons (nee Perry) aged 78 years. Predeceased by parents: Arthur (age 59) and Effie (age 67); sisters (her four best friends): Sandra Kean (age 28) 1975, Marguerite Stockley (age 42) 1980, Shirley Boland (age 57) 2002 and Mildred Gulliver (age 67) 2004; brother-in-law: Calvin Stockley. Left to mourn her devoted best friend and husband of 57 years: Ralph; daughter: Barbara Moores (Doug Penny, Tyson and Wayne) of Long Pond; sons: Perry (Karen, Ashley, Charles, Felica) of Chamberlains, Paul (Barbara, Paula, Adam, Jayden) of Mount Pearl; sisters-in-law: Gladys Leshane (Ken-deceased), Queenie Nixon (Bill-deceased); brothers-in-law: Harvey Parsons (Jean), George Boland, Reg Gulliver, Gord Kean, and aunt Dorothy Young (Jack deceased), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Angels on the Coronary Care Unit, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. Monday from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm. and 7:00p m-9:00p m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
