Paul Richardson
It is with great sadness that the family of Paul B. Richardson of Millville, NB announce his death on March 13, 2011 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Paul was born October 22, 1924 in Millville and was a son of the late Arnold C. and Verna G. (Estey) Richardson. Paul was a Veteran of WWII, enlisting with the Carleton York Regiment at the age of nineteen years. In 1944, he served in England, Italy, Naples, Sarno and Reminey. On May 13, 1946, he was given his discharge. As he had previously worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, he was able to resume his employment with the CPR on the Gibson Line (Millville) two days after his discharge until his retirement in 1984. He was one of the early Charter Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Millville Branch # 59. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Billings) Richardson; five children, Brenda Lawrence (Weldon), Maugerville, Juanita Nicholson (Brian), Richard Richardson (Sharon), Ronald Richardson (Audrey) and Phillip Richardson, all of Millville; daughter-in-law, Patricia Richardson, Charters Settlement; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Richardson, St. Catherine, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by a son, Burton Richardson, brothers Waldo and Claire Richardson and a sister, Helen MacFarlane.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Loren Gorman and Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Millville Cemetery. For visitation and funeral service, the family requests these to be scent-free.
