The death of Irma Guenther of Passekeag, NB, widow of Kenneth Ganong and Howard Guenther, occurred March 13, 2011 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB. She was born in Passekeag, daughter of the late William and Christina (Ryder) Rupert. Irma worked at Manchester Robertson Allison in her earlier years. She then worked at the Workman Compensation Board before moving to Niagara Falls where she was employed at the Greater Niagara Hospital in 1988. Irma is survived by one daughter, Lois McGuire (Rick Stein), Salt Springs; sister, Audrey Rupert, Passekeag; brother Doug Rupert (Janet) Passekeag; two sisters-in-law, Florence Rupert and Lorna Rupert; three granddaughters, Kim Varga, Wenda McGuire and Tina Dwyer, Ontario; two great grandchildren, Josh and Amy Varga; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jennie Causey, Rhona Rupert; and brothers, Lorne, Royce and Hazen Rupert.
Resting at Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation on Wednesday from 3 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Hampton Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Gray officiating. Interment in Lower Central Norton Baptist Cemetery, Bloomfield, NB.
