Mooers, Hazen Leonard — age 78, of Hants Border, Kings County, beloved husband of Rita, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with his family by his side. Born on March 24, 1932 in Temperance Vale, York County, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Fred and Ada (MacFarlane) Mooers. Hazen retired from Canadian Keyes Fibre in Hantsport. He was a former resident of Cambridge, Ontario. Surviving are his wife of 46 years Rita (Mosher) (Winter); step-son, Garnet (Chris) Winter and his children, Tony and Teresa, of Cambridge, Ontario; step-daughter, Margaret Young and her children, Ryan, Lance and Samson, of Windsor, Hants County; sisters, Isabelle Grant and Luella Moorecroft, both of Temperance Vale, N.B.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Edison and Lee; sisters, Hilda Monteith and Evelyn Marney. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Deborah Mosher officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
