After a valiant fight, Danna Christine Mary LeDrew, of Sydney, N.S., passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on March 11, 2011.
Born June 17, 1944, she was a beloved daughter of the late Adam Hummel, and her beloved and surviving mother, Barbara Rorison.
Danna is survived by her son, Wesley, his wife Anna, and grandson, Cody in Richmond, B.C.; and her daughter, Leah, and her husband David in Toronto, Ont. She is also survived by one sister, Laurie Lee; and two brothers, Jon Hummel and Don Rorison, in British Columbia.
A lifelong employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Danna spent her well-earned retirement years engaging in her favourite artistic pursuits, and socializing with a vast network of old and new-found friends.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. LeDrew, interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
It was Danna’s wish that memorial donations be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation Cancer Centre Patient Fund.
As Danna has touched so many lives as she has taken this journey, we will be accepting visitors into her home to celebrate a truly inspirational woman of tremendous spirit. Guests are welcome at 114 Christopher Cres. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, between the hours of 2-4:30 p.m.
