Helene Victorine Turnbull, 88, of Cheticamp, formerly of Stellarton passed away July 19, 2009 in Foyer Pere Fiset, Cheticamp.
Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Jules Sr. and Cleore (Balesdent) Alaffe. Helene moved to Dartmouth with her family in 1960 and later resided in Lochaber and Cheticamp. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a friend to many. Helene was a homemaker and operated a successful paint supply business in Halifax for many years.
She is survived by her children; Robert (Donna) Turnbull, Courtenay, BC; Brian (Marilyn) Turnbull, Dartmouth; Valerie (Charles) Hope, Quispamsis, NB; Julieanne (Peter) Hope, Cheticamp; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; Ron Turnbull, a son in infancy and a brother Jules Alaffe Jr.
Her remains will rest in the H. C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
