1931-2011 - Norm (Bumpy) Theriault of Moncton, NB., formerly of Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, March 17th, 2011. Norm was the son of the late Ernest and Josephine (LaPlante) Theriault of Halifax. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauletta (Ward), his seven children, Anne Riordon (Greg) of Bathurst, Patrick (Pauline), Michael (Carolyn), John Paul (Tracey), Martin (Sherry), Jeannette Johnson (Boyd) all of Moncton and Marg Maranda (Paul) of Minto, his 19 grandchildren, Rebecca, Regan, John Michael, Jennifer, Chris, Nancy, Diana, Michael, Shawn, Shane, Sarah, Katie, Jenna, Stephanie, Jayme, Shelby, Steven, Erin and Ryan and two great grandchildren, Marek and Milah. He is also survived by his two brothers Gerald (Marie) of Sydney, NS and Ronald (Peggy) of Lower Sackville, NS and his two sisters-in-law, Dolores Logan and Valerie Ward, both of Halifax. Norm worked most of his career for CN Telecommunications and retired from CNR in 1988. He was a devoted Catholic, a member of the Beausejour Curling Club, the Air Force Veterans’ Club and the CN Supervisors Club. His most precious times were spent with family and friends and a lot of good times and memories were made at his summer residence in Bayfield, NB.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s RC Church on Monday, March 21 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in the church hall. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke, Kidney or The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundations, or a memorial of the donor’s choice.
